Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa Keluarga Mahasiswa Fakultas Farmasi Universitas Gadjah Mada
(BEM KMFA UGM, Indonesia)
Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa Keluarga Mahasiswa Fakultas Farmasi Universitas Gadjah Mada (Student Executive Board of the Students of the Faculty of Pharmacy of Gadjah Mada University) or BEM KMFA UGM, is a local association representing students of the Faculty of Pharmacy of Gadjah Mada University. The Faculty of Pharmacy was founded by the Indonesian Ministry of Health on September 27th, 1946. We stand as an executive organisation that is responsible for any activities organised by other student organisations in the Faculty of Pharmacy as well as BEM KMFA UGM itself. BEM KMFA UGM has a vision to establish a comfortable place to allow students to be creative and improve their self-potential. For its mission, BEM KMFA UGM intends to be a dynamic organisation, aspirational, kinship-fostering, facilitating, and responsive to any kind of issues.
The BEM KMFA UGM participated in a lot of events and activities in IPSF, mostly in campaigns such as Mental Health Day, World No Tobacco Day, How To Dispose of Drug Properly, Pharmacy Profession Awareness Campaign, and so on. We also participated in online competitions held by PD such as Compounding Event, Patient Counselling Event, and also joined the Leaders in Training (LIT). For PE, we actively push our members to submit their articles whenever needed.
Gadjah Mada University is honoured to be the host of ASEAN PharmNET: Student Chapter in 2019. The goals of the Student Chapter are to improve understanding and to share various perspectives among pharmacy students in three main aspects; Education, Research, and Networking.
World Health Day
We celebrate World Health Day annually by organising activities in our local village. We will be doing morning exercises, health counselling, free check-up, and drawing competitions and quizzes for the children.
Every year, BEM KMFA UGM holds International Day, which is an event to introduce IPSF and its activities towards freshmen students. We invited speakers who have experiences with IPSF, such as students who joined SEP, APPS, WC, subcommittee, RWG members in IPSF and IPSF APRO, as well as the CP and SEO.
For external activities, BEM KMFA UGM had an event called Herbal Tour. In this activity, students have a chance to visit one pharmaceutical industry, specialising in herbal medicine. We learned how to make a product from RnD section until packaging.
Teddy Bear Hospital
Teddy Bear Hospital is part of PPAC, and we also collaborated with students from Medicine and Dentistry. We introduced the profession of pharmacists, doctors, and dentists to elementary school kids.
