The tobacco epidemic is one of the biggest public health issues that we have been facing for years. It has killed more than 8 million people a year around the world, with 1.2 million of those deaths are the result of non-smokers being exposed to second-hand smoke.
Whilst the detrimental effects of smoking are constantly reiterated, many smokers struggle to quit. This is where pharmacists can play a key role with counselling, education and medication management, significantly raising the chances of successfully quitting. This booklet contains information about smoking cessation and tips on helping others to quit smoking, directed towards a general audience.
