Did you know that Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) could cause 10 million deaths a year by 2050? AMR has been one of the most urgent global health threats, ever since the emergence of antimicrobials themselves. The WAAW 2020 booklet was made in collaboration with WHO WPRO, detailing information about what AMR is, why it is such a great threat, and what we can do through AMR stewardship to combat this.

The tobacco epidemic is one of the biggest public health issues that we have been facing for years. It has killed more than 8 million people a year around the world, with 1.2 million of those deaths are the result of non-smokers being exposed to second-hand smoke.

Whilst the detrimental effects of smoking are constantly reiterated, many smokers struggle to quit. This is where pharmacists can play a key role with counselling, education and medication management, significantly raising the chances of successfully quitting. This booklet contains information about smoking cessation and tips on helping others to quit smoking, directed towards a general audience.
